Homemade Dumpling

This is my first attempt to DIY dumpling all by myself.

Normally I would just help mum to wrap and not helping in preparation of ingredients as well as cooking the dumpling. So this is really my very first time to do from A - Z... hehehe

Since hubby likes to eat "Gan Shui" dumpling so I try to make that on Tuesday. I made about 20 mini "Gan Shui" dumplings.

I am not a fan of "Gan Shui" dumpling and so I decided to make my type of dumpling... so today I made my own dumpling... hehehe... I made 35 pieces altogether...

My Best Friend Fong's birthday on the 15th of this month. Made few block of cakes with teddy bears sitting on them and with some assorted chocolate. I know the work is still very rough, hopefully I will improve as time goes. I actually picked up the idea from a book by Debbie Brown and modified the idea abit.

Went back to Lumut after work yesterday. Started baking and decorating after dinner. Luckily managed to ask grand uncle to help me baked a butter cake in advance so I only need to bake one cake last night. Two of my cousins' celebrating their birthday today. So I decided to make two cake. One is the shape of car for a 14 years old boy and an Elmo car for a 3 years old.

This car cake was decorated using fondant. This is my first time shaping a cake and decorated it with fondant. Took me more than an hour to get it done. Weren't able to make too much detail as I was tired by then. May be should plan better next time. The base cake is the butter cake my grand uncle baked.

This elmo cake was a nutella cake which I baked last night. Decorated it with buttercream and fondant. Used fondant for the eyes, nose and lip. The rest of the face was decorated with buttercream. The eyes of Elmo was too heavy and it actually dropped out when it arrived in BSB. Managed to put it back but not as nice anymore lor. Sigh.. Next time have to consider the weigh of the fondant if were to decorate the cake like this again.

Using the new heart shape silicon pan I bought from Gina's KC Store in Singapore I baked this raisin butter cake and covered it in fondant. All the fondant figurines on it are also made form the goodies I bought from her shop. (Finally have time to play with my fondant since coming back to Brunei.) The cake is still sitting nicely in the box as no one want to cut it. LOL

Despite the current H1N1 screening everywhere I still take my chance to fly to Singapore during this May vacation of mine. I have planned 2-3 months ahead to attend a 1 - 1 cake decoration course with Gina Choong from KC Forum and Taste of Time. Been long to know how to decorate cake with fondant. Tried did make a ipod cake once with the Marshmallow fondant but was very frustrated with all the effort and time and the fondant actually harden very fast and the outcome is just satisfactory. Therefore one of my aim this trip was to learn fondant making and decoration. All together I had four days of 4-5 hours per day with her. Lunch included somemore. Had a great time with her, beside the schedule course content, she was so nice to share other knowledge with me, basically anything related to cooking or baking, she will answer whenever I asked her. Regret that I didn't take a picture with her. Was having fun with fondant, chocolate, and picture taking of fondant that I forget to take picture of human. hahaha...

Thanks to Cookie Monster, Nonnie and I were able to try out some promotion dishes at Brunei Hotel last last Friday. We met at kiulap then headed to Brunei Hotel together. We arrived last. All the others were there already.

We got to try out 8 dishes. Won't say I enjoyed all but few are pretty yummy.

Butter & Chocolate Cupcakes

I had an order of some 150 cupcakes on the 25th December. A friend got a function at home, not Christmas party, so he ordered these cuties from me. Spent few hours getting all these done the night before as I have to deliver all these to him in the morning. Also not to forget many thanks my two helpers at home, they helped me with the initial frosting of the cupcake so that i can concentrate on decorating the cupcake.

My friend wanted something cute, so I came up with these three different themes. One box is decorated into all sport balls. The other one is what we see in the sky such as sun, moon, stars and rainball. The last one is heart and flower. Really had a great time playing with icing. HEHEHE.

A colleague of mine order these cuties yesterday. She wanted some one one chocolate swirl and some in multiple swirls. So I had fun with decorating these cuties. Luckily I have finally come up with the right ratio for the ganache and they turned out just nice. Since I was in the mood, I even added some silver candied ball onto the cupcake to make them look more interesting.

Never cross my mind that I will try this recipe out. A blog friend of mine once asked if I have any peanut cake recipe and so I googled and found this recipe here. As usual I do not follow recipe totally. I use more peanut as suggested. The cake did turn out very honey and peanut taste but I find it a bit too dry, may be it doesn't use butter in the recipe. Anyway, my colleagues loved it and finished it despite some are not decorated with the ganache. As for the ganache, finally able to come up with a very satisfy ratio of whipping cream and chocolate. I used dark compound chocolate so it is not that sweet. Found the combination quite nice. Still yet to try with the cream cheese frosting next time.

Baked and decorated this cake for a blogger friend Nonnie (from Spiritual Garden) for her 25th birthday. This the first time I decorated a cake with fondant. I get this homemade fondant recipe from Baking Mum, it didn't turned put as shown on her blog but it is good enough for me to decorate this cake. Tried my best to make it like an ipod nano but too bad I was unable to get black colour to make the black lcd screen. So I just make the screen in white. Of course it would be quite impossible to make a slim ipod or else there won't be any cake left to be eaten. Well I got to admit, I need more practise to master the skill of making a more detail fondant. As for now, I just got to be happy with the result despite my first attempt on homemade fondant and using it to decorate a whole cake. Heeheee

Still very obsessed with cupcakes lately. Instead of having one big cake to decorate, with cupcake I can have lots of small cakes to decorate to fulfill my graving for frosting and piping.

Anyway, I made these few days back. The cupcakes turned out nice but the poured fondant glaze is just too sweet. Need to modify the topping next time. Something not to sweet. ^^

Baked my favourite butter cupcakes again and decorated them like sunflower as requested by one of my client. She ordered it for sungkai treat for her family about 2 weeks ago.

Egg tart has been my all time favourite but it has been pretty difficult to get nice egg tarts nowadays. Instead of waiting for the prefect egg tart to show up in my door, I decided to make my own. As usual, I like everything that is MINI, so I made lots of MINI egg tarts instead of the standard size egg tart. Brought to share with my colleagues and sport mate. Heeheee...

Fruit tart is the other thing I used to make. It's been quite a while since I last make these. Seeing the ingredients sitting around in the kitchen then I decided to make these fruit tarts. I even get an order of these fruit tarts from my colleague after she tasted it. Hee.....

My grandma left us for heaven this july, so I couldn't celebrate my birthday, instead of baking myself a birthday cake, I decided to bake a thankyou cake for mum. Thank you her for bringing me to this world, loving me, fulfilling my wishes, tolerating my bad personality, supporting what I do. Without her, there won't be me.

This cake was baked for mom on her birthday in June. It was oreo cheesecake, didn't use any colour to decorate the cake as I think white suit it bes.

Baked this mini butter cupcake again... My favourite and of course as usual I brought those to work for my colleagues... heheehe

Butter Cupcake

Finally learnt how to make Pak Kong's famous butter cake from him last night. Instead of make one big cake, I decided to make it into cupcake. With full supervision and guidance from Pak Kong, I managed to come up with these standard and mini cupcakes. The end result were satisfactory as we found it to be too moist for cupcakes, so need to modify the ingredients abit next time. I then left sealed cupcakes over night. Then did some frosting and decorated the cake this morning prior to coming back to BSB. Below are the result of my experiment.

Chocolate Almond Cupcake

My colleagues asked me to make something to bring to work last night. Since I was so obsessed about cupcake lately so I decided to make some cupcakes. Unsatisfying with the texture of the vanilla cupcakes which I made for father's day, so this time I decided to try modifying the chocolate almond cake's recipe for the cupcake as I loved the moist of the cake alot. As the ordinary recipe was very moist and buttery so I decided to add more flour and cocoa powder and milk in the recipe so that the paper of the cupcake will not be too wet after baked. To cut it short, my cupcakes did turn out quite nice, not sweet and then when added the chocolate ganache on top they turned out to be just in the right consistency.

Most importantly, my colleagues they love it till those unfinished cupcakes were tapau also... hehehe...

My colleagues were even asking if I will take orders next time, hehehe... I told them I will if I have enough time to prepare them... Rough cost is about $0.70 per piece ( medium size - slightly smaller than the standard size).

RBA's Fruit Meal

When I booked my ticket online last month, I take an effort to browse through the meal that RBA will be serving. Since I am really sick of eating oily and meaty meal on plane, I choose fruit meal. But then I was told that it might not be available after finished my booking online.

I was so surprise when the cabin crew came to me and serve me my fruit meal. It's really nice to have such light and juicy meal on plane.

This is the FRUIT MEAL I had on my way to Singapore. Got strawberries oh... not bad huh....

Eating In Singapore

Was in Singapore from 4th till 10th June. Normally I have few places which I will go and eat. There are things I MUST eat. I took pictures of some of the food I ate but unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the foods I enjoyed most. As most of the time I couldn't wait to taste it the moment it arrived and by the time I remember that I was supposed to take picture, the food had all gone into my stomach... hahahaa...

My craving foods include: Sausages, Lamb/mutton, Yong Tau Fu, Korean Food. Guess what this time I actually ate sausages for four times... hahahaa... crazy enough... but I just like it...

Yup not Japanese food as I still find that it is much more cheaper and more choices if eaten in Shanghai. Hahahaa... Japanese food is definitely one of my favourite but not to be eaten in Singapore. Can be very costly if I want to have all the sashimi.

Anyway just enjoyed the few pictures I remembered to take... heehehee... Make sure you are now drooling hor...

This a German Bar where we had sausages as well, both my frens had beer but mine was just apple juice in sparkling mineral water... don't like beer and was not feeling well that night... Anyway managed to have great sausages hehehe.... but forget to take picture of sausages...

After tasted the best sausages at Magma, Bukit Pasoh Road (again forget to take picture, sorryyy lor...), my frens and I come to this Rochor Original Beancurd place at 11pm++.... No kidding... still long queue leh... We have to wait to get seats and then to queue up to buy food...

See the dustbin there??? Yet still got ppl sitting there to eat leh... so good business... But we rather sit outside the shop there... cuz a fren said there is some odor due to the heat of the day...

The ham chin pian and cakoi are famous beside the beancurd... Well to me the five spices powder is not strong enough for the ham chin pian... Still prefer our Brunei taste...hehehe

Wilton Cake Decoration Course 1

Attended Wilton Cake Decoration Course 1 on 6th and 9th June in Singapore. Yeah I went all the way there to learn it and also to spend my holidays abroad. It was supposed to be a four days course but due to the limited time I had in Singapore, B-I-Y customised the course to two days for me.

Very lucky to have CHAMI as my instructor. Gained a lot of new knowledge from her. She made the course very interesting and beneficial for me.

This is the CLOWN and Rainbow decorated cake which I decorated by end of the first day course. Not bad huh. The blue clown was done by my instructor, I did the purple clown.

This the cake I decorated on the second day of the course. I design and decorated it myself. Since I don't have my Mixer with in Singapore, so my instructor helped me to ice the cake in advance. But I did the remaining decoration myself. Took me about 1-1.5 hours to finish everything.

Ohya, when I went to Le Apple in Menglait the day after returning to Brunei, I saw that they are now selling some (actually quite little) Wilton's product. Quite happy to find out that. But the Wilton's course decoration is not available. Anyway, hopefully I would be able to return to Singapore in future to take up the Course 2-4 soon. Really hope I can get to learn how to make those flowers. Heeheee

Father's Day - Birthday Celebration

Celebrated Father's Day in advance at home last night. Also at the same time celebrated two of my cousin's belated birthday. Since I am still on holidays so I baked and decorated cakes. Applied what I have learned from my decorating course in Singapore recently. Cupcakes have been such a HIT in Singapore so I decided to make cupcakes. Decorated them in faces of all the daddy in the party. I think I still manage to get their special traits down despite not being at drawing. Heee Heee.

Too bad I forget to add some white colour to make some grey hair for grandpa and granduncle so everyone's hair is black... hahahaa... Or else it will be more distinct...

Nail Art

Got my nails done two nights ago. Many thanks to Nonnie for introducing her friend S. to me. It's really cheap (compare to what you will pay in the shop). And S. is really creative and nice. With just B$30.00, can have any design and no limit on the stones used. Plus foot scrub as well as a good after service. She even helped me refill my stones the next day as I dropped them due to my carelessness. Really nice of her.

This is the first time I get those stones onto my nail. Love them so much. Can hardly do so as my job doesn't allow me to even have long nails. Since now I am on leaves, I don't care, I just want to have them. Even though it means that I have to get them (those on the fingers) removed by Sunday evening. At least I still have my nails pretty for few days. =P

Flying To Singapore

Will not be blogging for a week despite it's my holiday as I will be flying off to Singapore later this evening. Will be attending a two days course on Wilton Cake Decoration Course 1. Heeehee this will be my first ever official course for cake decoration. Hmmm, in fact I have never taken any course related to cooking and baking yet. Kinda excited.

Carrot And Walnut Cake

Made this cake today. Saw it in one of the recipe book I had, look yummy and not dry. Hoping that it will turn out like what I normally get in Fluer-De-Lys. In fact, it does turned out to be quite moist till I am not sure if it is fully cooked or it is just moist. And since I accidentally burnt my walnut while toasting them, so the burnt walnut taste is there. Heee... Paiseh lah...

Chocolate Almond Cake

Bake this last monday for a colleague's birthday. First time actually making a chocolate cake from scratch. Thanks to Aunty Yochana. It was really easy to follow recipe. As usual I didn't follow it fully. Still do some changes for the Ganache. As I was just too tired after a day of work so I just couldn't go on to decorating the cake wording. The cake was slightly burnt on top as I was using a smaller pan to bake it so it take longer to cook fully and ended up with slight burn on the top. However, my frens at work still like it alot. heee...

Next week will be dumpling festival. Since I will be in Singapore by then so mum decided that we will celebrate it earlier by having prayer today. We wrapped the dumpling on Friday though. Had great fun even though only four of us were doing the dumpling wrapping.

Made these cheesecakes last weekend and on Friday. Bought a big box of cream cheese so I have been making different kind of cheesecake. There are still more cream cheese in the fridge, so will still try to make more out of it.

Classical Baked Cheesecake. Find it heavy but my cousin said it is just alright. Hmmph

A day of Taichi Outing

We had our taichi practise this morning at Muara Beach in full attire. Yes really at the beach and it's really difficult to perform taichi, it's so sunny, the sand are so soft that we can hardly balance ourselves well. And really worst for me especially with my injured legs. And worst more, both my legs aching now due to over strain of them due to unable to stand properly during the practise.

Frozen Honey Cheesecake

Baked this cake for my cousin's 21st birthday. Well only bake the crust. The filling was actually frozen in the freezer only. Ohya I also made the word on the side using whiet and dark chocolate. Quite happy with the way the cake turned out.

This was the cake I bake for my cousin's birthday. Didn't really bake the cake from scratch. Just baked from those pre-mix super moist chocolate cake. But I made the chocolate frosting myself from scratch and also making the white and black chocolate leaves. A simple yet different decoration for cake.... heeeheee...

But I can't stand too long still...

Even if I wanna to sit down and do the baking, I can't, as there is no ingredients for baking at home...

My left leg now is so ugly, bruised and still swell.

Still elevating my leg as advised. BUT I did start my tuina on it already... Did biostimulation as well as electroacupuncture as well. Today it is slight better with the swelling, at least the swelling doesn't accumulate so fast when I am standing.

Noticed very bad bruises lor, even the back of my toes are bruised. Terrible fall... Worst in my life.... I was told there could be torn ligament but I don't care, I will just keep using the therm-oxygenated oil to massage abit now and then hoping in speeding up the recovery. At least walking isn't that bad this morning...

The other problem which i encounter last night was that I couldn't sleep on my right due to pain at my back/waist. This is 100% due to the prolonged elevation of my left leg while sitting and leading to over straining my right back / waist muscle.... So I definitely need to do something today... or else I will not be able to rest well again at night....

Yup that is what I got. Not fracture. Confirmed by the Radiologist. PHEW...

It was so difficult to sleep last night with the P.O.P. Can't sleep on the side but just lie down flat only.

Anyway, now off the P.O.P., no need to carry extra weight with me. Really got to admire those who carried it for months. One day to me is already killing. Was so so so relief when told that the P.O.P. can be removed.

Of course the legs are still aching but the right one is much better, just that can't bear too the body weight too long. The left one is still swelling and aching. At least now dare to force myself to slowly bear the weight and walk. No more crawling. Just use the stool as support.

Ohya, went to physio, due to the reason that both legs are injured so no way i can use axillary crutches yet. Just got a wave therapy for my left leg and a minor exercise for the right leg. Able to walk abit slowly now. Elevating my left leg in order for the swelling to subside faster. Used YUNAN BAIYAO spray hoping to help the swelling.

Worst Fall Of My life

This is so far the worst fall I have in my life.

Happened this morning at 10.30am.

As usual, being careless, checking on something while going down the stair and missed my steps. I guess may be two to three steps. Then fell on both legs. Couldn't move at all initially. And immediately seeing the left ankle started to swell up.

Why worst ever? Cause I never injured both legs together. So this the first and worst ever. I can't really stand as I couldn't put weight on either legs. Till my right leg getting slightly better then i try to put some weight on it. I basically sit and move down the stair slowly and having difficulties standing. Finally with the help of a pair of crutches ( used by my brother last time) I managed to get into the car. Drove by my aunt to hospital. After x-ray, I was put on POP (cement) on my left leg as I got fracture. SIgh. Never got POP lah. Now even more difficult to move. My right leg just have some soft tissue injury so I still can't put my body weight on it as it still heard. So I was just crawling around in my room or trying to move around with crutches. It is difficult for me to use crutches as the right leg is also pain. SIGH.

Anyway got to return to hospital for review tomorrow morning.

Doughnut

Promised a colleague to make this yesterday. My first attempt of making it myself. Used to help mum with frying doughnut when I was very young. This is the first time I made it from scratch. Didn't buy the premix doughnut flour. Just used the bread flour and cake flour to make this. The shape of the doughnut didn't turn out as expected but the taste is not bad. Need improvement lor.

Run Out Of Gas!!!!

The worst thing that can happen (in my opinion) when you are planning to cook a nice meal is that after preparing everything then only you find out that you RUN OUT OF GAS.... ARRGGGHHHH.... That's what happened just now while i was preparing my lunch. Worse more, the driver is not home, no man to carry the Gas Cylinder to get a new one replaced at the store nearby.

Don't want to strain my back so I just don't bother to go out to get a new one replaced immediately. Anyway, luckily what I prepared to cook can be put into the slow cooker to cook. Just that now I am combining two dishes into one. Instead of having soup and stew meat separately I just combined the common ingredient together and it shouldn't taste bad... hahahaa...

Yeah I know I can go to the store myself and have the maid and I carried the gas cylinder, no big deal even if the driver not around. But then I am just MALAS lah... kekekeke... since I can still cook in another way and it won't change the dishes much...

This is my third attempt of Japanese Cotton Soft Cheesecake. And this time I even modified the ingredients abit. Turned out quite satisfactory as well. But still not so satisfied with the fact that it's still abit wet on the bottom. Anyway the whole thing was very cheesy and yummy.... heee...

Below are the picture I took the next day. Unable to take picture of the whole cake as my maid already cut it into piece by the time I remember to take picture. So only managed to take few closed up picture of the cake.

It's a friend's birthday today. I baked this cheese cake last night. Didn't get enough time to decorate it so I just lined it with Ferrero Rochers on the side to give it a golden colour. Then managed to get some fresh flower last night at the shopping mall to add more colour to the cake. Woke up a bit early this morning so that I can put everything into the lovely box I gotten. Just passed it to my friend the moment I saw her at IPA. So happy when she told me she loved the flower and cake. Luckily the Cheese Cake turned out quite good despite it's my first attempt of these new recipe. Yup this is not the same recipe I tried when I was home. It was a relief when everyone who ate it said it tasted nice. hehehee...

Puppies

Was back in Lumut yesterday after waking up from my sleep in the afternoon. Despite it was raining when I reach home yesterday, I still go to the backyard to check on the newborn puppies. Mum called up the night before telling me about our dog gave birth to five puppies on Tuesday. But unfortunately one was found dead when they were checking on the puppies.

Another bad news, I found one of the puppies was lifeless and the body was stiff already. Our helper and I decided to take away the remain three puppies from the mother dog. As my doggies wasn't able to take care of the puppies herself due to being taken care by human and lost her basic survival skill and instinct.

The three puppies were taken away for their safety and also with the doubt that they weren't being fed by the mother. I was using milk bottle to feed the puppies ( as shown in the picture ). But still we can't provide that warm motherly environment for the puppies and despite that they were given clothes in the box to keep warm. At one instant I need to go downstair to cover them up due to them whining pretty loud around midnight.

Despite all the efforts taken, sadly at around 5pm+ today, another puppy (the only gal) was found dead also. She was the one that make me decide to bring her away from the mother as she was so weak. But still she can't survive. Now we only got two little boys left. I hope they will be able to survive as they were the two that were most active and crying loud. I was even cuddling them in my hands to keep them calm. But I can only get to see them when I get to go back to Lumut next week again. Hope I will get to see the two of them.

Puppies, from five down to four then down to three and now just TWO.... Sigh

As usual I will make something while back in Lumut. This time I try to bake the Japanese Cheese Cake. This is my first attempt. Well it is not successful lor, but still eatable. Will try to bake another one soon as it does smell nice and taste delicious.

Marathon Baking

Started MARATHON BAKING today...

Yup... started my baking today... Managed to bake 6 recipes of CORN FLAKE COOKIES and 1 1/2 recipe of KUEH MOOR... Also starting to wrap the mini dried and spicy shrimp popia... So tired now... as too much standing throughout the day...

Why baking so much??? Well as it is a tradition to give relatives and friends the goodies prior to chinese new year... So normally will bake more cornflake cookies to give away... while mum and dad were busy frying the Kueh Chap... Grand uncle also started with his marathon Butter Cake baking...

As for me, beside those cookies to give to others, I will also be starting to bake some other kinds of cookies for ourselves.

Don't think i will upload picture this time as I have posted most of the picture of the cookies in my previous post... hehehe...

Okay okay... the truth is ... i am pretty tired now... so can't be bothered to upload the picture to pc and edit it... don't think i will be free till may be after 2nd day of cny...

Yup... will be busy with my marathon baking and fighting of the oven with my grand-uncle... Despite having three ovens but we both prefer that specific oven... hahahaa... so need to book time for the use of the oven... no kidding... but i guess i can still manage my baking with the other two oven except that i need to adjust the temp and time....

Hainanese Chicken Rice

While sorting out the food in fridge this morning, saw that yellow chicken in the fridge remind me that I haven't cooked HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE for ages. So took the chicken out and defrosted it.

While awaiting for it to defrost, I came upstairs to my study room and saw the your tube link which i bookmarked last time regarding how to cook the chicken nicely. Been able to cook very fragrant and delicious rice but unable to cook the chicken in good mouth watery condition. My Chickens were either over-cooked or skin not intact. So this time i tried to follow the instruction of a chef on you tube.

This time the chicken turned out much better, but the head was off the neck after i tried to hold it up with chopstick few times, hahaha. Guess the chicken is not fat enough also. The skin already come off while i was washing it in the sink before cooking. Also thanks to that you tube guideline, i was able to cut the chicken nicely this time.

BUTTTTT I also chopped off a plate..... Yup... I placed the plate to near to the chopping board and when I tried to chop the chicken I also chopped the plate... So one broken plate.. and there it goes my nicely decorated cucumber as well... ( don't want to risk eating those cucumber which are with tiny broken pieces of glass)...

Anyway, beside the chicken the other important thing is the RICE... Which of course I don't have much problem with except that this poor little chicken's fat is not enough so I have to add some butter to make the rice fragrant while frying it. Yes we fried the RICE (before putting into the rice cooker) and then use the chicken soup to cook the rice instead of tap water.... That's what my mummy taught me....

As for the veggies, I just marinated some cucumbers for appetizer cum veggies of the day... Simple yet delicious..

New Toys

Off day today. Didn't go back to LUMUT. Just staying back in BSB as I have appointment to perm my eyelashes and also trim my eyebrow... yeah ... getting ready for Chinese New Year lah, what else...

Went for taichi as usual, ohya, we finally finished the whole 24 step yesterday, so it's revision today and it's really great, though sometimes i wasn't concentrating and lost my balance at time but it's really fun, for being able to keep it up and finished the whole things... heee

After that, went for my eyelash perming and eyebrow trim appointment at 9am. Followed by a visit to THE MALL to check out some clothes again, looking for mini jacket for chinese new year. Then drove to Le Apple to get some NEW BAKING TOYS.

I bought some cookies cutters that are mini in size, bread pan with cover, mini bread pan without cover, sugar flowers, cake tester, twister ( to hold the sugar flower), the cream horn roll, the press for kek lapis, etc... Now can't wake to be back to lumut to play with the new toys... heee

Yesterday I saw the jack fruit at the backyard fell off again without being ripe yet. Went there to check on the other fruits, and then discovered that it has got this anak (branch) near the ground and also fruiting at the moment... Get excited about it and took some pictures... quite unbelievable... so low and yet still got fruit... I already ask the driver to cover the fruit but still it fall off the tree, I dun know why... sigh... we got quite a lot of the fruits now and i hope i can wait till they are all ripe to eat.. heeeheee

Then while checking out the jack fruit, i saw this little fruit (pomelo) also fruiting despite it is in a pot and not on the ground... amazing huh...

HOME BAKERY???

I think my home at Lumut is turning into a home bakery, been baking bread everytime I am home. I don't know how come the bread are gone so fast... hahahaa...

Arrived home 30 minutes later than expected as there was road block at the Soon Lee Sg Liang the other day. On arrival, grandma said she ran out of bread again, so I made her bread, this time I followed the recipe from the book I bought the other day. Made mini white loaf instead of one normal loaf heheehee. The load turned out pretty alirght.

After dinner, I made the non-baked cheese and also kueh bangkit (fried the flour few days ago). Managed to get everything done before 10pm. Not so time consuming right?? hehehe... The kueh bangkit turned out alright... but I think I should add more coconut milk next time... hehehe...

Didn't do much yesterday as I drove grandma down to KB for prayer. We came home around 1pm. Only did the Suji Cookies ( the flour was prepared prior to leaving for KB ). Then I asked our maid to get the flour for kueh mor fried. So upon reaching home, we started making the suji cookies and Kueh Mor. I tried makeing Nutella Kueh Mor. It was slightly troublesome but very yummy. So that is definitely in my cny cookies list.

Didn't plan to bake any bread but when mum got home and realized that the mini loaf was almost gone, so we made some bread again. This time we made buns for grandma and some buttermilk buns. Didn't manage to wait till the buns are cooked as it was pretty late so I just drove back to BSB without taking pictures of the new buns...

I got my hair done the other day, got it cut, dyed, highlighted, not permed this time, hee... spend quite a bit on it as usual... what to do, it's Chinese New Year, trying to get a new start with a new look (hair, clothes, shoes).

Beside that I have been keeping myself excited about the upcoming MASS new year cookies baking... Been planning to bake and prepare so much, hopefully I will manage to get it done.. heee....

Went home again. Grandma complained that she ran out of bread. So we made bread for her after came back from MIRI in the evening. Bought new recipe book again as usual. Therefore we made the usual bread for her (the first few picture). Then I decided to make the new recipe (from the book) manually. Of course dad helped me out a bit. Both turn out okay except that my manually made are slightly burnt. Just have to lower the heat next time, can't follow the book. This time we only made white plain loaf (for grandma), lotus bun ( for grand uncle), hot dog bun and cheese bun.

Did lots of baking today. (Actually we did bake some buns and almond cookies yesterday as well..hehee...)

Started my day with baking this morning. Baked the BEE cookies, Horlick Doggies cookies and then again I made some buns. Well this time I made most of the baking myself with minimal helps. Tired but at least I got the satisfaction when I received good comments. As usual took picture of my cookies and bun.

FLOOOOOOODDDDDD!!!!

POOL OF WATER!!!

Yup, woken by lighting and thunder last night around 3am associated with electricity cut off at around 3.15am. It was raining cat and dog out there and making me more anxious as our place normally have a tendency of being flooded. Went downstairs and managed to get the electricity back on. Checked the backyard, there was no sign of flood. ^^ Went up and wanting to go back to sleep. Heard my two puppies whining when I almost slept. Heard some noise downstairs. Went down to check again. OMG, the backyard was started to fill up with water. Woke my aunt up and then rushed down back to ask the driver to drive the two car away from the house before it get flooded in the garage.

We were all busy putting up the canvas and brick ( I bought that earlier on for prevention of water coming into the house - ain't sure if that will help, at least did try something rather than no prevention at all ). Carried the SOFAs up and placed in between two chairs so that it won't get wet like in 2006 when water get into the house. The thought of water running into the house had really make me very anxious. I don't wish to see the house filled with dirty water like 2006. That was a very horrible experience. Seeing the house filled with brownish smelly water.

Anyway, luckily we managed to drive the cars out early so the cars were saved. Not like last time I had to send my car to workshop for repair and to dry up the cushions. Also the water level didn't rise till entering the house.

But what torture most is that the phobia of water entering the house had made me unable to sleep despite we had done all the preparations in preventing the water entering the house. Been waking up every 10 minutes to check on the water level. Water level only reduced at around 6am - 6.40am. So you can imagine that I wasn't sleeping at all since 3.30am.

Went to work once the water had all gone and I could get out of the house this morning. Luckily was just 20 minutes late and I informed earlier on that I would be late. Work was damn hectic also. Been running here and there since we started our shift till the end of the shift.

Came home and wished to rest a bit but was too tired and couldn't nap at all. Hopefully I can sleep earlier tonight or else will be so exhausted.

YEAH this was what happened at home today.

We did lots of baking. HeeHee.

Enjoy it so much.

I was awake early today. Feeling bored and so I started my new year cookies baking again. Tried two new recipe today and ended up with three different things. I made the Almond Chocolate Stick, Almond Cookies and Almond Chocolate. Really having fun trying out recipe from the "NEW YEAR COOKIES" recipe book I bought weeks ago. It's easy and fun. As usual, I got others to help me out. My two maids, my brother's gf and my mum. So it didn't take long for us to finish up all the cookies. The cookies turn out really yummy. Even managed to let grandma try the almond cookies ( she doesn't take anything with butter in it, and this almond cookies is without butter ), and she loved it as well. The Almond Chocolate was made out of the left over almond nibs and melted chocolate from the Almond Chocolate Stick. ^^

Then after lunch, we decided to go on with out baking. We were making the buttermilk bun. Well we made that three times as for the first two times, mum told us to add hot water to the yeast and ended up the bun not enlarging and hard like stone. So after thinking carefully she then remember that yeast should be added to warm water, so our third bun making session ended up nicely. Beside buttermilk bun, we also made lotus bun ( grand uncle wanted that ) and plain bun ( grandma prefered that ). Buttermilk bun used to be the famous bun in my late grandpa's bakery shop. It's also our favourite bun.

Chinese New Year is just round the corner in about a month's time.

Mum reminded me to think about it last month but it's been really busy and I hadn't been having time to give it a thought. Was kinda panicking last night as I really needed to decide the design for my new year clothes as soon as possible or else wouldn't be in time for new year. Went out with a friend of my mine window shopping at THE MALL. But the window shopping ended up lots of money spending, =p. Typical me.

Still can't believe that I managed to get myself "the little black dress" from a local shop at a pretty reasonable price with a nice cutting. So happy. Then I also bought three skirts from the same shop which I will get two of them altered into a top rather than using it as skirt. And the other one I will get it altered into one piece dress. Heeeheee. No one said I should wear them as they are designed for right? Then I will design 1-2 more tops with the combination of material I have at home. That I will have to wait till tomorrow when I am home to check out what material I have at home.

Ohya, went to the Brunei Consumer Food Fair last night. Bought the drinks from Singapore named "whatever" and "anything". Knew this drinks from my friend who was in Singapore last year. Kinda surprised to see it at the exhibition last night. So immediately I bought the drinks. Haven't get to try it yet though. Hopefully it's not too surprising.

Beside that, I managed to learn a lot from my cousin's friends at the exhibition regarding the new full HD LCD TV. Almost get one for my family but then after much thought still decide to get it only when digital transmission of the tv program are introduced. No point rushing into it now. ^^

Was planning to write the first blog of the year yesterday but was too busy in the morning and too tired after work at night.

It was really busy at work yesterday. Non-stop at all. If this is profitable business, we all will be happily serving the clients. Hahaha. Went home with aching back and legs. Can hardly move my body the moment I lie down on bed. Woke up pretty late this morning. (Yeah didn't go for Tai Chi, did sms Master Li the night before regarding not going this morning... Need rest mah).

Had Bio-physio on my whole body today. Felt so much better after that. A friend dropped by with her little boy, treated him with electro-acupuncture as the little boy still having cough despite fever came down. Did whole body cupping massage for my friend.

Went to Hua-Ho to get ingredient for my modified banana pudding. Ended up with tons of food and containers as usual. :P

Made the pudding, hmm... it's alright, need to modify it again. Made it based on how I made the mango pudding but I added more of some ingredient. Still not satisfy with its texture, will modify it further. Hee...

New Year Eve Dinner

Didn't go out. Just spend the time at home.

Prepared dinner with aunt. Instead of the few dishes we planned. We decided to cut it down to two dishes as we prepared dinner in the kitchen. So at the end we only had the grilled lamb leg with potatoes; fresh veggies salad; mushroom and wine. Were so full and luckily we didn't bake the apply crumble for dessert. Enjoying our dinner with chat and laugh.

Yup last day of Year 2007

What have you done?

I worked very hard today at work. We got so many clients visiting us on this last day of the year. According to my colleagues, it wasn't like this last few year. Unexpectedly LOTS lately. Everyone is so exhausted at work I bet. Before joining them in the department, I never thought of how tiring it can be working there. It's just merely my interest to want to work in a hectic and busy place. But this is really very damn hectic. I salute to those who been working there for years. After years of working there still they can be so devoted to the job and clients.

Been wanting to sit down and give a good thought of the new year resolutions but I was so tired that I need to lie down on bed to rest for a while. Couldn't really sleep so just lie down to ease my aching body, especially my back.

Not going out tonight. Too tired to do so. So will be just staying home and had a nice dinner with my aunt. With lots of delicious food hor. KeKeKe. Enjoying ourselves at home.

I am grilling the other 1/3 of the lamb leg which I bought for the xmas party. Now with it in the oven, the smell of it is all over the house ( can even smell it here in the room upstair ). Aunt will make salad, veggies and smashed potatoes. We might have some wine as well (sorry not halalised party for us this time). Will try to snap some photo of our yummy food and blog it, hee.

In doubt if I can still stay awake by midnight. May be YES, may be NO. Anyway, no Taichi lesson tomorrow. So I can afford to wake up late tomorrow. Will be working tomorrow afternoon only.

Overview of 2007

This year passes by so fast. May be it's because I was being transfered to a new department where I had more challenges at work. Work is fun but hectic and tiring (physically mostly). Been feeling so excited about being able to freshen up my long-lost skills as well as learning new skills. Making lots of new friends at the new department. Get to know more people from various departments and not just confined to a department. It was pretty tough at first but as I settled down, things get better as usual. Well there are more to learn and I am looking forward to it. I may not be one of the best but I do try to do my best. Of course I can't be happy and cheerful and treat the clients well all the time but I am trying my best not to let my mood affect me. Trying to be professional can be very challenging with the situation at all also. I admired some of my colleagues who were very patience despite the situation. Salute at them. ^^

It's been a very fruitful year for me. Did a lot of things ( a lot of cooking and baking especially, heee ) and met a lot of people. Talked a lot, shared a lot, thinking a lot as well. Especially been thinking hard what I actually wanna to do in the next 10 years. I just like to think and wish that I can have a life I want and be happy in future. So been thinking hard what I actually like doing and trying to figure out ways to archive it. Also been talking to people to see whether my dream is realistic and workable or not. Received both good and bad feedback as usual. Guess that's just life. Nothing is gonna be good all the times.

May sound weird but cooking is my way of releasing my stress. I like to cook or bake then have others trying my food. Will feel so happy and fulfill with good feedback and will try to perfect it when it's not done well. But it's hard to get people to keep trying the same food over and over again so just need to alternate it with other foods, heee. Tried quite a lot of new recipes the last two months. Almost everytime I go back to my parents' place I will try to make something. More people there to try out mah. Also got maids to help me clean up, hee, I hate cleaning and washing. I love the initial phase, the preparation and making it and cooking/baking it but never like washing the dishes. My hands get dried when I washed too much. Don't like that.

Started this blog in November, after inspired by those blogs I read online. Despite the no longer updated blog of mine in friendster, I still decide to start this new blog. Was having some difficulties trying to decide if it's gonna be a food blog or personal blog. Guess now it's in between the two. Basically it's more of I blog what I like. Can be food related, my thought, my feeling, my complains, or may be in future health related. ^^

The Coming 2008

Well haven't really give a good thought of what I would want to do in this new year. Been extremely busy this month, with work, families and friends. Haven't really have time to sit down and go through it yet. Hopefully I can come up with some sort of new year resolutions by 1st week of January. Normally I will just think about it in my mind. May be for this time I shall actually write it down in one of those notebooks I get long time ago and keep it update every year. Review it every year end to see if I ever archive what I plan. ^^

Halalised Xmas Gathering

Sorry for the late blog. Been busy even after the Halalised Xmas Gathering (all my guests are muslim except one of them) on the 24th Dec. Haven't been able to sit in front of the pc to upload those photo I took during the party. The party turned out quite successful.

I came home after work around 3pm that day then started with cooking the sushi rice and preparing the sushi vinegar. Followed by decorating the surprise belated birthday cake for a friend who will be attending the gathering as well. This was my second time actually making a whole cake and got it decorated with fresh cream. All 100% home-made. Even the fresh cream was beaten by myself. Spent about an hour with the cake decoration though. The cake was pre-made the night before. With help of two of my friends whom came early at around 5pm, I managed to finish off other things while they have fun rolling the sushi and making new design for it. I was busy taking care of the lamb leg, chicken wings, veggies and drinks. While I was preparing myself for the party, another two friends came and also help out with the sushi making. Yeah the sushi really take up lot of time, well I guess they have fun with it though.

Dinner didn't start till almost 8.30pm as we were waiting for some guests as it was raining quite heavily at their place. I guess everyone enjoy the food but still got lots of left over. Luckily they tapau all except the veggies. I think veggies is the less favourite food of all. =P

I decorated another cake the next day (the actual xmas day) as I still have another cheese cake left in the fridge. Sent it to work for those who were working to have little joy of the day. HEeHee. Mum's teaching lah, don't waste the food mah. So just finishing off all the whipping cream I got and also make other happy.

Retrieved my (more than 15 years) memories of how uncle used to do it in the bakery last time. Hmm, afterall it is not that bad right??? No practise at all leh.. kekeke... Comforting myself here....

Preparation For Party

For the last few days, my mind been thinking about what to cook for the coming party. Well I won't say it is a XMAS party though as I am not a Christian so I don't really celebrate CHRISTMAS. May be just throwing a party so that I can have my friends over and catching up with each others. Not going to be a big one, just gonna be a few of my colleagues from work. It's gonna be a halalised (new word I learn from a friend) party as well. Hehehe as most of them are Muslim.

Anyway, managed to come out with my menu of the party yesterday while at work after discussing with a colleague of mine. It will be combination of eastern and western food. To be specific, it's gonna be Japanese, Chinese and Western. Tried to come out with food that I can prepare in advance as I will be working morning duty on 24th. So I need to get the food prepare the day before. Most of the food will be bake as well. And two of my colleagues might come early to help out. So hopefully the party will be going on well.

Went grocery shopping just now as I was afraid I won't have much time for shopping tomorrow. But still I need to drop by Supa Save for some special ingredient which I couldn't find in Hua Ho. As usual, I enjoyed myself a lot during the grocery shopping and ended up with a few things that are not in my list. The usual me.

Tomorrow will be a busy day for me. Need to do more grocery shopping. Also, I will be preparing some food for the Wushu Federation's gathering at night. Then also need to marinate my lamb shoulder for the party on 24th. In fact, it's also the Dong Zhi tomorrow, supposed to eat Tang Yuan (Glutinous Rice Ball). May be I might make some for myself if really in the mood, hmm, may be should make some to bring to work tomorrow night. Let's see how thing goes.

Miri Trip

Drove down to MIRI with my best friend yesterday for our girl's trip. Didn't do that for months. Guess it's been half a year since we last drove down together. Used to do it almost every 1-2 months. I almost can't recognise the road. Oh yup, as usual, the driver is me. Driving my parents' KIJANG and there we two roamed around MIRI City.

Started our journey pretty as early as 7am from K. B. as we were worried that there would be traffic jam since it's school holiday and public holiday. Anyway, it was quite a smooth journey without traffic jam. Headed to the medical center for a routine check up then off we went for our breakfast around 9am++. Had "red kolomee" near PARKSON, yummy. We both missed that cute curly noodle. Didn't bring along my camera with me so no picture taken --- sorry.

After that we headed to PARKSON, our favourite stop. NOPE not PARKSON but the POPULAR bookstore there. HAHAHA. We spent almost 3 hours browsing the books and stationery. That's usual for the two of us. I ended up with about 25 books and magazines. Scary right? Guess that's normal for me if I go down once a while only. Most of them are cookery books and magazines. Some related to herbal cooking. Gotten myself few books on cookies making, as Chinese New Year is nearby, I am starting to think what type of cookies to make for this year. Even planning to take few days off before Chinese New Year so that I can have time to bake those cookies. Don't want to be like this year where I was baking from early morning till midnight for kueh mor and cornflake cookies last minute. So for the next few weeks I will try out some of the recipes to finalise my cookies selection.

Back to our trip, after satisfying our crave for BOOK, we went on to roam around PARKSON for shoes at BATA. Feeling like we were doing our Chinese New Year shopping already with SALES everywhere. Well, we both bought the same pair of sandal ( as we both like it coincidently). I went on to buy another 2 pairs of slippers for home use and outdoor. Believe it or not, I don't have slippers at home. hahahaa.

Then we drove around to the Joss Stick and prayer related shop for her to get the prayer stuff for her mum. Forgotten how to go there, but at the end we managed to find out way. Not bad huh.

Our last stop of the day as usual would be boulevard. Reached there almost 2.3opm. Alot of people as usual, driving around to get parking, didn't get the free parking, just parked at the paid parking since the parking coupon we had were going to expired by end of the month so we might as well used it. Went to Optic care, getting myself a pair of new glasses. The last time I had a new pair was back in 2000 ( I did get the lens changed, which was back in 2003), so thinking of treating myself with a new ones. Oh man, I almost think that I am so out of fashion. I couldn't get used to the new frame, luckily i got the patience optometrist who just let me keep on trying on different frame. Managed to get one both my friend and I were satisfied. Got a shock, when was told the price of the frame. Altogether with the lens, it cost me almost double what I used to pay for a pair of glasses. My conclusion, my monthly disposable contact lens with the solution are still cheaper then. Anyway, I still get that glasses for my "Xmas" present ( though I am not a Christian.) <--- Siok Sendiri Saja.

While waiting for the glasses to be readied. We went around shopping as usual. Took our late lunch at one of the stall, just sotong ball, crab balls, crab stick, fish stick, etc,... hahaha.. simple yet delicious. Then as usual I went to the Union bookstore to check out any interesting book. Hmmm, gotten myself two dictionaries instead, one is the chinese idiom and chinese dictionary. Why? Well I am thinking of creating another blog which I will write in chinese. hehehehe... So I need the dictionaries for references. Still a thought... Day dreaming now..

So we departed Miri around 5.30pm, praying hard that there won't be traffic jam. Luckily GOD heard us and we were in Kuala Belait by 6.15pm. Send my friend back to her house and I reached Lumut around 6.40pm. Took dinner, talked to mum, told her not to buy any cookies for CNY as I will make cookies. By the time I reached BSB I am almost half dead. So tired. Couldn't even wake up for my early morning Tai Chi today.

Looking Forward

Looking forward for the new week to come with a better luck. This week was kinda not smooth for me. The muscle cramp and diarrhea and the failure of testing new recipe.

Went back Lumut yesterday, then only noticed that I forgot to bring two of the important cables home for the portable machine. Because of that I couldn't perform electro-acupuncture for grandma and mommy. Then trying to make the peanut glutinous flour ball with new method and it didn't turn out good. Well the appearance looked yummy (to me) but it's hard when it get cooler. In fact the last attempt was better even though the appearance is not that good.

Anyway, also made the steamed milk pudding again but this time I forget to strain the egg mixture before mixing into the milk. Luckily the pudding still turn out alright.

Thought that my diarrhea was over so I tried to take the roasted duck mommy bought from Miri, and still it give me the nauseating feeling due to the excessive oil. Guess I better just be good and take blend diet for the mean time first. The nauseating feeling ain't that good.

Looking forward for the new week to start and hope that everything will be fine soon.

This week might be interesting as my little cousin is here spending the days with me. So got someone to talk to at home. Not going to be home alone again. Okay okay, am not home alone all the time as I got two family members recently, that's ming and yang.... but.... they don't speak in human language, they bark... =p

Yup got the two of them recently, two naughty yet shy little ones. Both white in colour, one boy and one girl. Two months old. The girl is more playful compare to the boy. Glad to have them.

Bad Days

Luck was not by my side yesterday as well as today.

Was caught by muscle cramp due to sudden increased physical activities the last few days. My left lower cuff muscle suddenly cramped while at work yesterday evening. Making it so difficult to do thing. Having to move around slowly. Luckily it was alright after a night of rest and my dear colleague let me had a more relaxing delegation at work today. So basically the cramp was gone.

BUT... was woken up by acute stomach aching this morning and having diarrhea since then. In fact I did feel abdominal discomfort and nauseating at work also last night. Was quite miserable at work last night with the abdominal discomfort, nauseating and abdominal discomfort.

The diarrhea was quite acute initially, went to toilet 3 times before going to work and another 3 times. Didn't take any medicine, just keep applying my herbal oil. It subsided slowly, by end of my shift this morning, I was basically feeling much much better.

Only got another episode of diarrhea when reached home. Of course I have been taking lots of fluid to make sure I am not dehydrated. Forget to take ORS, but did drink 100 plus though. Had porridge at lunch and then just corn soup for dinner. No appetite for something else. Just want hot soup. Continue with the herbal oil on and off. So far no more diarrhea and nauseating now but stomach still not feeling that great. Will try to rest well tomorrow as well. Night shift tomorrow.

Spoke to a friend just now, really can't think what is the cause of my acute gastro-enteritis, I have been eating home-cooked food. Mostly like could be the water as the water was quite cloudy for the last two days. Hmm, may be should buy bottled water tomorrow since the water is still not clear yet. Also will continue with herbal oil and blend diet for tomorrow.

Morning Post Night Duty

Last night was hectic at work. Didn't really settle at all throughout the shift. Only had about an hour of cool time in total.

Went off early this morning as requested, as I needed to go to airport to send off a teacher of mine from my ex-school. She is leaving Brunei for good. After sending her off. Went to Tasty Corner at Gadong for a Dim Sum with my parents.

Later dropped by the Gadong open market as mum wanted to get some soil and plants for the garden back in Lumut.

Reached home almost 9am then showered and sleep. Slept till 3pm+. Woke up with slight dizziness and disorientation. As usual did waking up in between, that's why ended up with dizziness. Didn't take any food till dinner. Had my electro-acupuncture (for improving my general system) and back Bio-massage at aunt's alternative clinic. Feeling great now with the tension of the back being relieved a bit. Spent some times refreshing the massage/tuina techniques with the physiotherapist. Telling her the reasons for applying some of the techniques and how it shall be done.

Spent time checking out blogs and updating the format of my blog.

Plan to sleep early tonight if possible as I need to get up early for Tai Chi tomorrow. Yeah am trying to keep it up.

Tai Chi Lesson

Oh Yes!!!

I managed to make it to my first day of Tai Chi lesson on time this morning despite having problem sleeping last night. Okay okay I admitted how much I wished it was raining when my alarm rang this morning. Even check out the window to wish that it was raining out there before I dragged myself into the bathroom to freshen up myself. Took two pieces of crackers and milk. Off me driving to Riverview Hotel. Being the first to arrive there 6.25am, and saw no car nor people there did make me wonder if the class was still commencing or not ( I found out about the class about 2 weeks ago and didn't go till today).

Luckily I saw another two car arrived and I asked them if they were there for Tai Chi. Phew!!! So it's on. The poor coach was injured lately due to accidentally fell into the drain (not sure when, didn't find out), so it was someone else leading the lesson with the coach at the side instructing verbally. Did some stretching and basic steps to loosen up before going into the actual action. Of course being new meaning I am just following others, eyes on others and turning around following the steps. Luckily after the main practise, we the new learners were brought aside to be taught step by step. Honestly I still don't quite remember the steps myself, need to be guided still. First day MAH!!!

Overall, its difficult to wake up initially but it is really nice to work out early in the morning. Hopefully I can keep this up. Will try to go as often as possible. Wish to make it as my routine habit. For that I think I will join the membership ($200 - lifetime). Yeah after I pay I just have to force myself to go for it regularly. Or else I will just let it be and won't complete the lesson like last time. Yup this is not the first time I enrolled in Tai Chi, did joined the Brunei Muara Tai Chi thing last year but couldn't keep it up due to the reason of working shift and feel so inconvenient with having to attend class at night when I would love to hang out with friends or chill at home. Yeah Yeah Yeah, it's just reasonable reasons I gave myself for not keeping with the class. My apologies. Will not give in for any reason this time since the class is held daily from 6.30am till 7.30am which mean I can go any day as long as I am not working morning.

Came home feeling abit sleepy but didn't sleep. Just sat in front of my pc and did some works. Lunch out with friends at Jollibee Utama Bowling. Nice updating gossips with others. As usual, we expressed our frustration over the youth these day... hmmm... hold on... we sound so old then... well may be then... hahhaa... paiseh...

Came home, took a good nap (cause not enough sleep last night and working night shift tonight)... Now just blog before going to work.... Heee

Last Day Of November

Last day of November...
Tomorrow will be December, last month of the year...
Time passes by so fast again...
Feeling like it's just been yesterday that I had been transfered to my new department, that I celebrated my birthday, had my vacation...

Anyway, played volleyball again today, had great game despite we didn't get enough players to play... Played 5 games in fact... pretty tired but really fun...

Also now with my swelling arms as usual due to not playing it regular enough... =P

Just realised that it's end of the month while driving home after volleyball and I forgot to pay salary to the therapists. How careless am I. Therefore, once after my quick dinner, I buried myself in the account and get their salaries and commissions ready. Also get the cheque ready for bill payment. Get the invoice of clients done and printed out. So finally settle the work for the month. Now can start the new month with new things.

Been thinking about dropping by Riverview for Tai Chi course. Haven't really make up my mind yet. Need to talk myself into it. Why? Because need to wake up early in the morning. It's from 6.30am - 7.30am. As if working morning shift. If starts, then it mean I have to be good girl and have a good sleeping habit. Can't stay up late.

May be I should go for it. Since it's always been my wish to learn Tai Chi. Missed it while studied in China. So I should not miss it again and keep regretting for not putting any efforts in making it comes true. Hmm... okay ... will go for it and try to keep it up as much as possible... Stop talking and no action done...

Cooled Down

COOLED DOWN... Yup cooled down....

As usual, my temper came fast and went fast. Didn't really sit and watch the driver did the cleaning but did instruct him to clear the rubbish. As usual he didn't get the keys duplicated and need to go to the shop to get it done after being told AGAIN.

Just hate it when I have to keep repeating the things over and over again. Don't understand why can't one just listen and does as being told and keep it up. Why is there a need for constant reminder???

Annoying Driver Of The Year

YUP. That is how I feel now!!! Can even feel that my hair is all standing up now (怒髮衝冠). I am really really really pissed off with our driver at home. Talked to him also no use. Hopeless. Really feel like open up his brain and format it then put in back. Below is what happened today:

First of all. When I woke up around 6.30am this morning, the gate light and outdoor light were still on <--- sign that he was still not up. Okay, hold my breathe, deep breathing, didn't want to spoil my day, also follow what mum said by not pushing people too much... Then I took breakfast and then got myself ready to go out. When I was ready at 7.30am. Wanted to get my shoes in the maid's room and found that the door was locked. Alright, no big deal, go from the laundry to enter the room, HEY, the gate light and outdoor light were still on... Cool Cool Cool... The laundry toilet was locked... Damn!!! So I went to the driver's room and knocked on his door really really really hard then only he was awake and opened the door for me... I was in a hurry, so didn't really scolded him but just said " It's 7.30am already!"... Managed to forget about it and drove to Centrepoint Gadong to attend the World Mental Health Forum. Had great time catching up with some friends/colleagues there. Got a sms at around 10.20am from the part-time maid saying that the two gas cylinders we had outside the kitchen were stolen. Well didn't react much to it, just asked her to check if anything else was missing. (Didn't realise that this morning as I didn't use the gas stove to cook) Anyway, was being told that the driver checked and it's just the gas cylinders were being stolen. Alright then, not so bad. Therefore I asked her to get some money for the driver to get new cylinder. In fact we still have spare cylinder at home but need to get the new filled cylinder. It's nothing difficult and so I EXPECT it would be settled by the time I reached home. Reached home with hungry stomach (didn't take much during the coffee break) at around 2pm. Went into the kitchen to prepare lunch, after I finished all the cutting and cleaning, NO GAS!!! With a hungry stomach I don't think anyone can stay calm. I am really really really PISSED and on FIRE!!!

What kind of driver do we have here? Woke up later than me!!! Didn't do what I instructed. He will normally go to my uncle's office around noon time, so why didn't he get the gas cylinder first??? Always got tons of useless / pointless reasons. I assure you this is not the first and only time that he delays (using his logical / sensible reason) in following instruction. Spoke / scolded him once few weeks ago, as I couldn't stand his attitude anymore. He is really getting on my nerve again. Just 5 days ago, he managed to oversleep in the morning till needed to be woken up by my aunt at 7.15am when he was supposed to pick me up from work at 7.15am.

I find it no point talking to him sensibly or scold him. If not because my aunt really pity him and like his loyalty, I would have asked my uncle to sack him. Basically he lives a more relax life than us. Asking him to change bulb or repair thing in the house will take days when the things would be already available in the house, just need to climb up and change only. Our cars are not washed if we don't asked him to do so. All we expect is at least once a week of washing for the two cars we have in the house. Few times, I would just do it myself. Even asking him to go get the cord for electrical kettle is so difficult, saying that its difficult to find and bla bla bla... Honestly I am giving up in this guy. I am going to sit at the door later to instruct and watch him doing the garden. Cleaning away the rubbish I asked him to clean more than 10 months ago. Instruct is not enough. Have to watch him!!!

Being Busy At Home

Went home to Lumut on Sunday after my post night duty sleep. Arrived home with lots of food prepared for the farewell dinner for one of my mum's good friend/colleague, my ex-teacher at school. Don't be surprise by the way my family prepare for any dinner. Mum likes to have gathering at home with lots of food. Check it out in the picture below. In fact this could be consider as a simpler version.

Farewell Dinner

Despite having a table full of food and dessert, I was still manged to try out a new recipe I gotten from the net. Do you know that the juice from old ginger will be able to make the milk abit sticky? Oh yeah it did, I found this recipe from the net, apparently seemed to be a famous/ well known dessert in Hong Kong, name "ginger hit milk"(direct translation). I tried and it worked, not really like a pudding but it did become a bit tofu like. Interesting huh!!

Woke up early this morning to get myself busy with making siew mai skin from scratch. Had my grand uncle and two maids to help me out though. Took some pictures of the skin and siew mai too. Well realised that the skin were a bit too thick after we steamed it. Will improve that next time!

Proceed to my second recipe of the day, I tried to make glutinous rice cake with peanuts as well as mango. Also recipe from the net which I had been searching for days. Well those I just rolled in the peanut were the most easy to make, those with peanut filling weren't that difficult when compared to the mango filling. The juice from the mango made it more difficult to wrap it up plus the portion of mango juice added to the skin is slightly too much making it too soft and thus difficult to wrap. Anyway, will have to try again next time so that can come up with a better portion of flour and fluid. I didn't follow the recipe fully. Heee...

Glutinous Rice Cake - Traditional / Fusion

It had been a cooking day for me at home today. Enjoying it though. Been doing that for few weeks now. Even my lovely grandma will always ask me what will I do whenever I reach home during my day off. Cooking is a way for me to release stress and I really feel happy if others enjoy it as well. A lot of time the recipe I got from the net need some modification done to suit to our own taste bud. Need time to work on improving the recipe and come up with my very own recipe. Heee...

By the way, am recovering very well from my flu, no more fever. Just cough and running at time, especially when it is cold. Otherwise I am alright despite I have been eating food I shouldn't, ho ho ho. Been eating lot of crabs, peanuts, etc.

Down With Flu

Yup. Down with flu. Due to not having my umbrella with me the other day when hanging out with friends. Also lack of fluid intake that day. Plus taking ice-cream too. All these add up to the development of my FLU!!!

Been forcing myself with custom-made herbal tea (by me lah) and water since yesterday. Trying hard to suppress the symptom before it fully develop. But been taking food not good for flu... heee... What to do? Can't resist yummy food lor... Had nice food provided at work today, yummy rice with peanuts, yes, i know i shouldn't take peanuts but it's just so yummmmmmmmmmyyyy. Then dinner, aunt made yummmmmmmyyyyyy, yup yummy roast lamb. Yes I know, second NO NO, but it's my favourite wor... so just let it be lah... Eat first lor... But I did cook corn soup with lots of ginger and pepper, hoping to let myself sweat abit to let out the fever. Also I did the electro-acupuncture as well as back cupping this pm, hopefully it won't be that bad lor.... crossing finger hor....

Still feeling feverish now, guess might have to take two tablets of panadol so that can sleep better tonight. If not might have to get some herb for myself or hmmm just continue with the electro-acupuncture... sigh... night shift tomorrow as well... have to get enough rest so it won't worsen after night shift....

This is how I look now i guess... but with a laptop ... heee...

Brighten Up My Day

Mood kinda down today due to what I encountered at work yesterday. Since it is my day off so I just go out with friends.

First, lunch at coffeezone kiulap with two of my friends. Catching up with latest news, especially with one of my friends, Um who just came back from her study in Singapore. All of us had the set lunch.

We chatted a bit only as she worked afternoon shift. Roz and I were both off day today. So we teased her. We talked about her department, the one which Roz and I both worked in. We were glad that we were out of trouble. Pity her but we can't do much. Feel so sorry for Um.

After sending Um to work, Roz accompanied me to get the tudong headband from Seri. Yeah I wear tudong but I am not muslim. Reason? Well, its our uniform requirement. Just have to follow.

Dropped by PC shop to get software regarding photo editing. Yup the picture above is the end result after two hours of installing and editing of the software I got from the shop. Not bad eh?? Hee

Wanted to watch BEE MOVIE at Seri Qlap Mall but it will be shown at 7pm, so we drove to The Mall, and still the movie will be shown much later, so not jadi. Ended up roaming around at The Mall. Ate gelato, it was alright, not really that great also. Did grocery shopping in the basement at last before leaving The Mall. Dropped Roz off to her car in Kiulap and headed back home.

The cookbook I got while waiting for Roz and Um during lunch time. Another collection of mine which I hope I will be using it soon. Heeee

Finally

Finally, after browsing through so many blogs lately that I signed up here to start my own blog. This is not the first time I write in blog. Used to blog in my friendster but was unable to keep it up. Hopefully this time I will be able to maintain this blog. Browsing through the other blogs made me feel so excited as picture can be added as well, not just merely words.

Still haven't decided what type of blog I would want to keep it as. May be I will just go with the flow of my mind. Since my blog title is "drifting", so why would i make it so complicated. It should be what flow into my mind then I will write it down. I would use whatever language I want to express myself here.

Love writing things down. Find it to be a way to relief the things that bother me in my mind. A lot of time when I write it down then only I realize that it is not as difficult/complicated as it feel. The same thought could have been circulating in the mind over and over again to make it looks like there are many problem but after all it is just one problem. Clinically, writing the problems down and tackle from there is therapeutic way of relieving tension.
